Who we are
This site is run by , based in Australia. We call ourselves "we" or "TrailTag" below.
What you're buying
- Digital files only: a 3D map insert (multi-colour 3MF and single-colour STL), the two-part frame for keychain tags, and a print guide. Nothing is posted to you.
- Display sets are map inserts only. The display board is not included.
- You print the files yourself, or with a printing service you choose.
Prices and payment
Prices are in Australian dollars. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. Discount codes have to be entered or applied before you pay.
Delivery
After payment you go straight to a download page where your browser builds the files. The page's link keeps working, so you can download again later. Keep a copy of your files. If you can't download them, contact us and we'll help.
About the maps
Maps are generated from public elevation data and the course or area you choose. Heights are exaggerated so the shape reads well at keychain size, and small features may be simplified. Gallery courses are our best reconstruction and may differ slightly from a race's official route. Please check the 3D preview, size, colours and engraved text before you buy, because that's what your files will be.
Printing results
How a print turns out depends on your printer, settings and filament. The files are designed and checked for common FDM printers, and the print guide explains the settings we recommend. We can't control your printer, but if a file itself is faulty we'll fix it (see Refunds).
Your designs
If you upload a GPX file or engrave text, you confirm you're allowed to use it and that it doesn't infringe anyone's rights.
Race names
Race and trail names are used only to describe the course. TrailTag is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any race, event organiser or land manager.
Your consumer rights
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms limits those rights. Otherwise, and as far as the law allows, our liability for any problem with the files is limited to fixing them, supplying them again, or refunding what you paid.
Changes and law
We may update these terms; the version on this page when you buy applies to your order. These terms are governed by the laws of , Australia.
Refunds
Faulty or not as described
Under the Australian Consumer Law, your files must be of acceptable quality, match their description and do what we say they do. If a file won't open in the slicers we list, is broken or incomplete, or isn't the design you ordered, email us with your order number. We'll fix or replace the files, or refund you if we can't.
Mistakes in your design
Spotted a typo in your back text or picked the wrong palette? Email us within 7 days and we'll do our best to send corrected files at no charge.
Change of mind
Because files are delivered instantly and can't be returned, we don't offer refunds if you simply change your mind. This doesn't affect your rights for faulty files described above.
Charged twice?
If you accidentally bought the same design twice, tell us and we'll refund the duplicate.
How refunds are paid
Refunds go back to your original payment method through Stripe and usually arrive within 5 to 10 business days.
File licence
- You may print your files as many times as you like for yourself, and give prints as gifts.
- You may use a printing service to print them for you.
- Please don't share, upload or resell the files, and don't sell prints, without our written permission. Ask us about clubs, events and bulk orders.
- Map data includes elevation from Terrain Tiles on AWS Open Data (Mapzen, derived from SRTM and other public sources).
Privacy
What we collect
- When you buy: your name, email address and billing country (collected by Stripe), what you bought, and your design: the course or area, options, and any text to be engraved. If you designed your own, that includes a simplified copy of your route. We need this to deliver and support your order.
- Card details go to Stripe only. We never see them.
- In your browser: your cart, saved designs, a discount code and cached map pictures are stored on your own device (local storage) and aren't sent to us unless you check out. GPX files you open in the designer are processed in your browser.
Who else is involved
- Stripe processes payments.
- Netlify hosts this site and stores order details.
- Email: if we email you a download link, it's sent through an email delivery service.
- Maps: map tiles from Esri and Carto, elevation from Amazon Web Services, and place search from Photon (komoot). When you use the map these services receive your IP address, and place search receives what you type.
Some of these companies store data outside Australia, including in the United States. We don't sell your information, and we don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
A tip about your routes
A route that starts or ends at home shows where you live. Consider trimming the start and end of a GPX file before you upload it, or untick "Engrave the back" to leave the coordinates off.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as we need them for tax and accounting, which is up to 5 years in Australia. You can ask us to delete your design and contact details sooner; we'll keep only what the law requires.
Your choices
Email us to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you. If you're unhappy with how we handled it, please tell us first. You can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
